Stage 1 of the Foy & Gibson project is complete and the owners are back in.
The works have really changed the character of the space adding quiet colour combined with texture (tiles) and brass, mirrors and glass panels.
The ensuite colour continues along the back wall of the bedroom (as robe cupboards) and up into the office space at the highest level of the apartment.
Previously the stairs zigzagged from bed space to upper level. This is now an efficient, narrow-ish, straight stair which improves the flow and emphasises the linearity of the space.
The calm blue is contrasted by the bed recess – highlighted in hot pink. This has built-in bedside tables and will eventually include a carpeted bedhead.
The mirrored shaving cabinet creates more space / ambiguity than anticipated. As expected, it makes the ensuite larger and reflects the tile pattern. Unexpectedly, when the door is open, it reflects the long linear space of the bedroom / office effectively doubling the top level.
